Utah. October 2009. Part One

To “my readers”: I’m happy to be able to tell you that the injury to my left leg (from that drunk driver running into me in 2006)...it got so bad, I finally had the sense to resume supervised physical therapy. There was slow improvement, and the therapist thought I’d have to put up with a permanent nagging ache, and now and then a stab of sharp pain.

Then, in late July of this year (2009), the aches and pain disappeared. Just like that. Poof! It was there, and then it was gone. I still can hardly believe it. What a pleasure it was on this last trip, getting “out there” to take the photos you’ll see in here. There’s one caveat to this recovery though. Commenting that I reminded her of her stubborn father, the therapist warned me several times, “Robert, if you try painting again, chances are it’ll all come back on you. Maybe even worse.”
