Blue Hills and Cottonwoods, Utah (R-173).
In the Blue Valley area of northeast Utah, a few miles from the tiny community of Luna Mesa. Nearest gas station, groceries, and post office is 25 sage-brush miles to the east. Using a 300mm telephoto lens, my tripod is set on the “off side” of a trespasser-proof fence, looking across 200 yards of well-watered pasture. A nearby dirt road leads past a small fenced-in pioneer cemetery, all but forgotten now, except for the care tended its grounds and markers by that county’s Boy Scout troop.
